Bob Thompson

Bob is a born and raised native of the state of Delaware who came to the Midwest by way of college in the 90s. Bob fell in love with roots music at an early age, listening to his father sing and play guitar in a bluegrass gospel band around the mid-Atlantic region and spending time with his mother's family, all bluegrass musicians, in the mountains of southwest Virginia. Thompson is a 20+ year resident of Bluffton, Indiana, and performs as a solo artist and with his close friends in the Americana band Roustabout. Although you’ll see Bob with his Martin D-18 as a solo performer, he is a multi-instrumentalist who also plays banjo and mandolin with Roustabout. Bob counts Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, Keith Whitley, Del McCoury, Kris Kristofferson, and John Prine among his musical influences. You’ll hear some of Bob’s original tunes that hearken back to these influences, cover songs that embody the heart of Americana, country and roots music, as well as songs outside those genres with singer/songwriter sensibilities.

Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. Reservations for dinner are encouraged. Reservations are for 90 minutes.
